2020-9 Cabañas de Buritaca Named Model of Eco-Tourism. 2020-9 The Colombian government has been promoting tourism as an economic alternative. International tourism has quadrupled in the last few years. When the nearby Tayrona National Park reaches capacity, the overflow is directed to the Buritaca River region. The Junta de Acción Comunal of the Cabañas de Buritaca, governing body of the community, has been named a model of eco-tourism. Many of the tourists that visit are students celebrating their graduation from high school, and many of them have never seen the ocean. This is an educational opportunity. 2020-10 Corpamag and Funcambiental Plant Mangroves Along the Buritaca River. 2020-10-7 The Magdalena Regional Autonomous Corporation -Corpamag, the Funcamabiental SN Foundation and the Community Action Board of the Cabañas del Río Buritaca Village carried out today, with the support of the children of the community's ecological group, a planting of 270 trees of red mangrove in the estuary in the sector that has been affected by bad environmental practices. With this activity, Corpamag begins the actions programmed for the Great National Sembthon, which will be held on Monday, October 12 throughout the country, in which the goal of the Corporation is to plant 5,000 trees, distributed in the municipalities of Ciénaga, Pueblo Viejo, Salamina, Tenerife, Santa Ana and the district of Santa Marta. It is noteworthy that the SN Funcambietal Foundation was created by the community of the Cabañas del Río Buritaca village and currently contributes to the environmental improvement of the village. Likewise, in this area, actions have been developed to protect the ecosystem, consisting of cleaning days and mangrove planting. Corpamag supports these environmental actions in the community, holding awareness days that allow them to learn about the diversity of local flora and fauna. |
